Activities have in recent times become a very important part of daily living for the older person. This is why, in Greenpark Nursing Home we strive to grow our activities program all the time. As well as having in-house activities like cards, bingo, short-stories, bowls, musical bingo, and movies, voluntary groups frequently visit us providing various forms of entertainment. Musical evenings are regular. We have traditional Irish Music every Tuesday morning and folk music every Thursday afternoon. Parties are held for birthdays and special occasions. Friends and family are always welcome to join in. Greenpark is famous for our big Christmas party. Every year, just before Christmas, a group of well known musicians entertain us with music, song and dance for the day. W e always have a full house for this party. Friends and family come from all over.Greenpark is very close to the Cathedral of the Assumption and also to St. Marys Church of 
Ireland Cathedral. Mass is celebrated regularly by the local clergy, however, we receive mass from the Cathedral every day through the radio. We also receive visits from clergy of other denominations on a regular basis.

These are taken care of by Ian Mc Namara, but the residents are encouraged to lend a hand too.
We also support tea-mornings and coffee mornings for various charities throughout the year.
